ABOUT US
The AT&T Pebble Beach Junior Golf Association is a local non-profit organization created in 1988 to introduce the game of golf to young people between the
ages of 7 and 17 who live and attend school in Monterey County. Membership is $10 annually. The Association now has approximately 1,750 junior golfers who have benefited from the various activities
offered by the Association. Please note that our programs are conducted by VOLUNTEERS and include:
Clinics: Numerous free golf instructional and skill evaluation clinics are offered during
the
year. Instruction is provided by local golf professionals at participating Peninsula
golf courses and driving range facilities. Information on time and place for
the clinics is published in our newsletter. You need to sign-up in advance. Call
our office 625-1555.
Tournaments: Several tournaments are offered during the summer that provide an opportunity for young golfers to experience the thrill of competition in a positive environment. Information on summer
tournaments is published in our Spring newsletter. A skills evaluation. test is given to new golfers and
must be passed before they are able to participate in these tournaments. Junior
golfers must sign-up on the entry form provided in the newsletter for tournaments.
Clubs for Kids Programs: Through this program, the Association is able to provide clubs free of charge to children who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford them. We do ask for your understanding, however, as the cost of providing free clubs to all the children in the Association is well beyond our financial resources. We do provide a list of golf centers whom we recommend for a starter set of junior golf clubs. This information is provided in the membership packet your child receives once he/she is a member.
Summer Lesson Program: A series of five free golf lessons for groups of 5 to 7 children are given during the summer by local golf professionals to our junior golfers. This program has a sign-up
date in June. Information will be published in the Spring newsletter on this event.
Scholarships: Annual scholarships are awarded to selected college-bound
members who demonstrate financial need and are active in the Association. Information
regarding scholarships is published in the newsletter.
