WINTER 2002 NEWSLETTER
"The Payne Stewart Youth Golf Exhibition", held at the Driving Range on Wednesday during the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am was a fantastic event. Kids and adults who gathered around the ropes were treated to a most talented and unusual celebrity, Chuck Hiter, who for almost one hour entertained, in grand style, his many unique golf antics. Mr. Michael Armstrong, Chairman and CEO of AT&T, awarded Junior Golfer Sean Kendall, the Payne Stewart Memorial Golf Scholarship Award. Todd Pontti, President of the AT&T Pebble Beach Junior Golf Association, presented Kelly Ventimilia, the Jim Lang Memorial Good Sportsmanship Award (Mrs. Sybil Lang was present), and Ryan Roston received the Jack Hartley Memorial "Most Improved Player" Award Both are members of the AT&T Pebble Beach Junior Golf Association. Thank you AT&T Pebble beach National Pro Am for providing all the kids with the AT&T logo thermal coolers and caps.

THE AT&T PEBBLE BEACH JUNIOR GOLF ASSOCIATION'S 10TH ANNUAL GOLF INVITATIONAL FUNDRAISER, held at the classic "Links at Spanish Bay" on December 9th, challenged our participants with some unexpected threatening weather compliments of mother nature, but the clouds soon parted, the sun came out, and everyone enjoyed the beauty and surroundings of the day. A buffet reception, silent auction, scholarship and awards presentations followed in the Grand Ballroom at the Inn at Spanish Bay. Special guest speaker, Roger Maltbie, NBC Golf Commentator, entertained the audience with many of his golf stories.
Our success could not be accomplished without the tremendous generosity of our valuable sponsors and contributors. Our thanks to the 100 generous, fun-loving golf participants, our awesome volunteers: Maggie Dean, Maxine Early, Linda Chetlin, Karen Wallin, our photographer, Patrice Ward and all our exceptional Board of Directors. All of you made this special day a tremendous success!
SPECIAL THANK YOU TO THE LINKS AT SPANISH BAY FOR HOSTING OUR EVENT AND TO RICH COSAND, HEAD PROFESSIONAL AT THE LINKS AT SPANISH BAY, AND TO THE STAFF WHO HELPED MAKE THE DAY SUCH A SUCCESS! WE LOOK FORWARD TO THE 11TH EDITION OF OUR ANNUAL EVENT.
